SharksFlyUp: When called upon to describe ourselves, I think most people - myself included - find that pretty difficult. Which heralds questions - can a person be described in 'up to 1200 characters'? Can anything be described in any number of characters? What do we want in descriptions? What do we want to know about people? Ultimately, why is it so difficult? All I would say is that if we're describing a person, then asking 'why?' is one of the most human things conceivable. I'll try and keep asking 'why?' here, and in the process I hope to clumsily blend psychology, history, sociology, and maybe a bit of comedy too. I'm not really chasing a definitive answer, but nor am I asking for the sake of asking: I think I'm asking because doing so serves to widen the mind, teach virtue, and offer perspective.
